GEOMORPHOLOGICAL ENORMITY TRIGGERS AWE BECAUSE WE RELATE OUR SIZE TO THE LANDSCAPE.jpg

LAYERS OF TIME

Massive landscapes inspire awe because we relate the size of our bodies to the terrain around us. The massive scale of deep time is boring because we don't have a way to relate meaningfully to time scales of millions of years. But thinking about deep time is vital if we want to build toward a better world. In this guided meditation we'll dig down deep through the layers of the deep past to find our grounding in a geologic sense. This is a good meditation for building a sense of belonging to the earth. Grab your headphones, find a safe and quiet spot, and take a plunge back into the layers of the deep past. You'll have access to this meditation through April 2018, listen to it as many times as you want. (duration: 33 minutes, 15 seconds)

GET DEEP

These aren't your normal meditations.

Each meditation is written using tools from contemporary embodied cognitive science to create moments of mental simulation that pull your attention through deep time along visualized trajectories that lead to new mental spaces.
